Quick update. Looks like the check that I included in our package was just cashed so it looks like he is back home. So far, I haven't seen an update on the return label (tracking) but I am checking every day. If I don't see any movement within 1 week from today, I'll reach out to him to follow up. But otherwise, I am expecting our items to head back my way some day in the following week. Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop.

    Marc

Thank you for your efforts, Marc!

Just wanted to give an update. I reached out to Canseco today because I haven’t seen that our return package is in the mail yet (I have the tracking since I also included the return label). I asked him and this was his response:

“Yes buddy. I’m out of town as soon as I get back I will sign it and send it out”.

Just wanted to give everyone an update. Thanks for everyone’s patience. I also have some of my items out and just like everyone, I’m also looking forward to getting our stuff back. Shouldn’t take too long honestly.

Update: Cards should be signed within the next couple of days he told me. Sent me a text yesterday (out of the blue/meaning I didn't even ask for the status) apologizing for the delay and that has been sick, but he hasn't forgotten about us and that he will sign them and get them out in the next couple of days. I'm assuming this probably also got delayed due to Rickeys passing as well and I didn't want to ask him in the middle of all that out of respect since his friend passed away. I know Rickey was buried yesterday. Not sure if he attended but he was buried in CA and Jose lives in Vegas so he probably had a lot going on between that and the holidays.

Next update should be that I have our items back in my hands. I'll also follow up with a photo of everything signed. Once I get our stuff back, I won't delay and get everyone's items back to them right away.

I reached out to him (again) mid last week. Explained this was just taking too long and that I have people waiting. He ended up calling me and apologized for the delay and cited it as he was out of town more than usual during the holidays, but said he just finished signing them and was sending them back. Waiting on getting them. Monday is a holiday so no mail :(

I'm in the same boat as I also want my items back as well.

Thanks Bob, but this will be my last time doing a signing in the mail with him. Only way to ensure quality, is for me to be right next to him and personally handle everything myself to ensure that this comes out smooth. Too much anxiety and stress for me dealing with him.

I did not participate but they look good.

They really don’t. He didn't use the sharpie I provided but instead used some light thin faded sharpie. Overall, I wasn’t too pleased and he made me look bad. I had to apologize to everyone participated. He made me look bad and I really don’t appreciate it.

  • Darn I missed it I had like 10 cards I wanted done I was in hospital:( someday when it’s ment to be

I did not partake in your offer. I prefer to have the signer in front of me. But I give you credit for devoting your time and effort in this situation. I agree it resulted in much stress and anxiety for your effort.

A lot of them would be tough due to bad background contrast, but overall I personally prefer a signature that fits in with the card instead of a heavy, less detailed signature that overpowers the card, especially for a signature that is already streamlined.

In any case, if people are that specific in what they want then I'd say TTM is not the way to go. They should wait until he's appearing in person and then catch him there. Of course, the cost will presumably be much higher.

Hey, I participated and one of my 86D corners got damaged. Along with the aforementioned marker not being ideal. But with that said, I am very grateful for all of the effort you put into this whole thing. Guys like you make this a community. You don’t look bad AT ALL.

    Thanks,
    John

Thank you both. I really appreciate you saying that. For me organizing these with him, I get to also get some cards done for myself as I don't keep or ask for anything extra outside of his prices. Out of the few cards I sent him, the only one that came back damaged from mine also happened to be the most expensive from the lot. a 1991 Donruss Elite. It came back with 2 busted corners and even a slight crease. As if the thin/weak sharpie he used wasn't bad enough. Just awful. Of course, I didn't tell him that. I just sent him a text saying that I received our stuff back and thanked him and he replied with a 'you're welcome'. But never again will I mail him a group signing again. I would have to be next to him handling all our stuff personally. I assure, when it arrived to him, everything was in the same exact condition that y'all sent it to me. In the end, I am fully responsible. He tossed some extras because I think he realized I wasn't happy with the wait time. I gave all of them away and a couple of mine just to try to make up a little with some members who I felt would have a legit reason not to be happy with the turnout as I myself, felt super guilty and embarrassed. Sorry I let everyone down with this one.

Thank you, Marc, for your efforts. These can't be easy to organize and you can't control what the player does or how he handles the cards once he has them, so no worries on my end. Your efforts are appreciated!
