Mexico 8 Reales Portraits, Die Information?

Is there a resource, similar to Overton for CBH, that would educate me on die pairs?

The book by Yonaka covers varieties but not die pairings etc. that would be a massive and near impossible task.

I catalog any die peculiarities, even the minor legend rework and master punch repairs, but it would be very difficult to catalog all of them.

If you assume 18-20k strikes per life of the die on average, you're looking at anywhere between 50-100 die pairs in the early 1770's and all the way up to 250 at peak production around 1805.

By the way, also the reason why I believe there's an over-date for every year except for the major design changes, as well as over-assayer for every assayer change. We just haven't discovered a lot of them, yet.

All understood. It might be best if I just concentrate on a date run at this time. 😂

Date and major varieties are the two I'm working on, as well. The 1772-1821 date run set is a great goal.
