Scored a “bullseye”, about a 35 yard shot with a civil war musket. That big lead bullet really put a bend in it!

Great shot!
It was more likely shot by a .58 caliber rifle rather than a musket which is a smooth bore.

Met a very old guy once who showed me a nickel that he said had been shot by Annie Oakley. I later did some research and it turns out that she would do that as a part of her trick-shot exhibition. Too bad there was no way to prove it.

I do some shooting of Civil War rifle muskets, quite an interesting challenge getting the right size minie, the right lube and the right powder load. Nice shooting. Keep that quarter, we don't want it getting out and have someone finding it thinking it's a rare error!

35 yards dead center on a quarter from a Civil War musket! That's American Sniper type accuracy. Nice shooting.

I was in the North-South Skirmish Association for years. We shot a variety of CW weapons, ranging from revolvers to full size Artillery. I held an expert rating and was a consistent medal winner. The musket (rifle) was a Springfield M1861, mostly original but with a Weisz progressive depth riflled target barrel. The bullet is a 515 grain soft lead slug pushed out by 45 grains FFg powder.
With all the damage those things did to coins, think of getting whacked in the chest with that thing. If you survived you might not wanted to have.
Was it an Enfield? Likely a rifle used by southern troops, if it was a 58 caliber. Funny that I can’t see any sign of copper on the edge of a clad coin.
If you were shooting offhand, that's quite a shot!
