Buffed these babies up just for all to see!

Just kidding! Too bad my friend gave them to me in this condition. Bet this destroyed the value of many a coin over the years!

Painful. Here's what you need to do:
1.) Take your friend out to Taco Bell as a thank you gesture.
2.) Take a few extra napkins and wrap the coins in them.
3.) Season with ghost pepper salsa.
    4.) Bake on 400° for 30 minutes
5.) After you put out the fire, I guarantee they'll look even worse. B)

Yes, my friend was my very first platoon sergeant. He gave me these visiting well over 25 years ago. I just keep them as a keepsake from him. He played a solid role in my life. I knew these would require a second look for those who have old type coins that have had a rough life!

Get some "liver of sulfur" and darken the surfaces. It should help making these coins look more natural.

This is how they were when he handed them to me. The post was making light of polished coins.

I was going to ask if there was a way to darken them aside from sulfur and Vasaline (sp) people talk about. I've never seen a coin doctored in this way come out good. When I tried it, the area next to the relief turned black! Anyone have an image of a successful result?

Aren't they still worth over $60 as is? I'd buy them for that price; and you got them for free!
