I think I know the answer but what is your definition, take?

Are ALTS disliked, banned? Or simply trashed?

    An alt is someone who posts under one or more additional user names. Usually it’s because they’ve been banned and/or they want to troll the forum.

    It's short for alternate. People that have other accounts or usernames that they might use.

    Alternative identity. They don’t bother me. If a person needs a mask, pseudo name, or new/different “handle”, I view it as one exercising one’s free will. Each to their own.

    In most cases, alts are duplicate troll accounts although there are a couple of other infrequent types (banned member allowed to rejoin, lost login info, etc)

    Many/most alts are disliked and, in theory, they should be banned per the rules from the top of this forum:

    You keep changing your question so it's hard to answer. To answer the last part, if an alt is trolling, like the EScott Coins/Rick Snow debacle, they are thoroughly trashed. Some of those alts were banned. Some were not, presumably the mod didn't think they had broken enough rules or couldn't prove they were an alt or didn't care that much.

    Basically my question about somebody with no dup acct of course but possibly disliked by the ruling class of a blog.

    Alts are so useful that there is not one, but TWO shortcuts on your keyboard, one on either side of the spacebar. Just type out your troll/controversial/combative post, smash the ALT button and post. It will automatically create and register an alt account on whatever forum/group you are on and post under that. /s :D

    I am lenient to alts only when it is a banned person who has repented of their wrongs, and even then, as soon as they start acting awful again, then they aught to be kicked again. Hence @Insider3 .
