@RedSox
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Luis Tiant.

Anyone who met him, on or off the mound, knew he was a true force. A fixture of Fenway and Fort Myers well beyond his playing days, El Tiante was family.

We send our love to his wife, Maria, their children, and grandchildren.

"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"

    I saw him pitch one time. He was a great player for the Red Sox and spent many days at Fenway even after he retired.
    RIP Luis!

    My nominee for the best pitcher not in the Hall of Fame. He was a borderline case.

    Descanse en paz.

    This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

    i vividly recall Tiant's pitching style on the mound. At one point I decided to collect his Basic and Master Sets...it took me several years, with the Venezuelan cards most difficult to get, I did finish and was proud to have his cards.

    Always a fan favorite, I wish he'd gotten into the Hall, but it wasn't to be.

    RIP Luis.
