Ever? That's a pretty bold statement. LMAO. In 15 seconds I pulled on two fingers (the middle one on each hand) and can give you two better...Roy Orbison and Freddy Mercury. And let's just throw all the Opera singers in recorded history out the window. Any Journey fan I have ever encountered were pretty much a .....I will go with penis.
To preface my comment I need to say I feel Farrokh is one of the most gifted vocalists in rock and roll history. I listened to this AI rendition honestly hoping it kicked ass. Unfortunately I don't feel it did. While it wasn't bad I don't feel it even came near to Steve's original version. Steve singing this song is one of the pinnacles of American rock and roll and any attempt to eclipse it faces an uphill journey (pun intended) to say the least. Noble attempt by some AI computer but I feel it fell short.
edit to add... Thank you for posting this, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it and comparing them.

One of my favorite covers. We may have to go down the cover road later tonight. For now though...
That tune, absolutely rocks Clad!
If you like funk, you'll love this:
Layne was a God, I'll not ever question that. I just landed on this little gem though...
I remember that one, good road trip tune. Speaking of road trip.
LB was fun for a minute for sure, good memories to them. Since you evoked the God Layne I bring forth a Goddess to level it out...
Wow! How did I ever miss her? Amazing! Could play Layne all night…
Who am I to not partake in a mini-Staley marathon?...
Saturday night...got to up the ante.
Winehouse
@DocBenjamin ! with a win and another Goddess. Kudos to you sir!
Not sure why Doc but your Amy took me here. This little lady's got a 100 year old soul...
Another old soul that I hazard Patsy, Loretta and Dolly would be proud of...
Three can play at that game :-)
