2000 Maryland quarter with gouge

Thank you for letting me join your group. Newbie learning about error coins. Does something like this make this coin more valuable than 25 cents?

    Sorry, but it’s a long thick scratch/gouge

    Sorry, there’s no error there. There’s a raised ridge of displaced metal to the right side of the gouge, which is a hallmark of post mint damage.

    Your 50% correct. It is a gouge, just not the type of gouge you're looking for.

    So the moral of the story: There's a major difference between a coin gouge and a die gouge.
