1817? She's lead a rough life. The countermark is silversmith Benjamin Lord of Rutland VT. Brunk notes the mark on an 1802 and 1804 large cent.

    I agree with 1817. The countermark is what adds value to an otherwise cull coin. Fortunately, the countermark is very clear.

    Clear 1817. The "181" is obvious and the type was not made in 1811.
