Is this indicative of only one year? Or common with many years? This was a 1957

It can occur on any year Lincoln. It is caused by a die chip.
There are people who do collect them but they don’t hold much value.
There are too many around. Don’t forget that once the die chips, every coin
after that will show the chip until the die is retired.
High grade examples seem to be selling for about $5 on eBay.
As mentioned, not very valuable, and rather common, but legit error. But a good way to get started into the fascinating world of errors and varieties!
