They have got to stop (over)using that faux spring training backdrop on the posed pictures. They don’t even bother with multiple ones for different locations or even different times of the day. They are visually boring as hell.
Go back to posing at the MLB stadiums, day, night, etc. Mix it up.

I think cases should be 75%regular 25% minis. Minis were produced in lower quantity - but the Conlan horde brought the price down when it was released. A ton of unopened at a price point that they became opened going from pack to sleeve on all the stars and high grade commons. Only the fact that such a high percentage never sat in shoe boxes being sorted and resorted and used as an entire year’s primary source for statistics by kids made the rarity premium go away.

I absolutely love the idea of an MVP subset from 1975-2023 being a part of the set..... Yes, the regular set. That would be awesome! I can see it now.... A card featuring a miniature 1985 Topps Don Mattingly and Willie McGee!

Perhaps have both 1951-1974 and 1975-2023 in the regular set...but with one group or the other being SP's. Or, have 1951-74 in the regular set and 1975-2023 in the "high numbers" set (they're basically like series 2/3 and series 1/3). Or vice versa.

I like Estil Posts idea - but would have through ‘74 as the last cards of Series 1 and ‘75 through ‘2023 as the first cards in Series 2 so those that binder their sets would have all the MVPs together.

Topps Heritage is out and it looks like there are no minis numbered to 100. I am wondering if they have a mini set planned to sell more product?

    On reddit:
"Saw this guy with a scale weighing heritage hangers at Walmart… "
Dude tried to put the scale in his pocket real fast when I was walking up but wasn’t fast enough I heard him on the phone saying he got the heaviest ones… I was there earlier today and decided to go back in on my way back home and grab a hanger so I still got one regardless but it was doo doo 💩 so I’m putting him on the news!

Another guy that was bragging on Instagram:

Indeed wouldn't most real collectors get the hobby version anyway? That's usually the one with the best and often exclusive inserts.

Funniest thing is that he will end up with the couple boxes per case that have the theft sensor card in them.

I'm not sure it's either of those.
I wouldn't do it BUT...based on some comments, it might work as hot boxes are measurably heavier.
Also some say you increase your odds of a more valuable auto vs a relic, if you choose the lighter box.
With some hit cards going for thousands of dollars, I can see why someone would do this.
Is it any different than guys knowing the sequence of cards in vintage packs, trying to pull the big cards?

In 2018, I pulled both a Trouty red ink auto and a Cepeda red ink auto a week apart from Walmart blaster boxes. I guess I was just living right that week, as I've only pulled blue autos of fringe players since then, including hobby boxes.

Well I did say usually... And yes, if i can get a master set (regular+SP's+non-#ed inserts) for what, $400-$500 then yeah I reckon buying and opening cartons of packs, while it would be fun, would also feel like a waste of money. Or at least I could maybe get that if those unclaimed property checks ever arrived... :,(

I always preferred the regular size personally...that is so funny how in a Beckett letter back in the day someone questioned the card they had and wondered if there was such a thing as a card shrinking!! The replied maybe if you washed it and put in a dryer on high heat!

My best pulls from 3 hobby boxes. Think the Dominguez Black is / 50. The Elly and Gelof's / 999 are decent.

Say do any of you guys have both the original and Hetiage set? I was so lucky that several years back I was able to get (what I think) is a really nice looking original set with the top 25 or so cards in PSA 7 (not all in one purchase though) and I was wondering if looking through the original and then Heritage in albums would make both more enjoyable?

    WISHLIST

It's always more enjoyable looking at the cards in albums versus having them tucked away in cardboard boxes. I recommend Ultra Pro Platinum pages for your viewing pleasure

The 4 pocket is large enough for cardsavers and will fit even thin PSA slabs (barely).
