Sac question...

Are the sacs layered somehow? I have a 2002 that looks to have Absolutly NO gold (Color) to it, no wear, and no gold color...Just wondering if I might have an error or sumpin.

Any possibility of a pic? What are the surface characteristics, the way the field looks, devices, etc? Can you measure and weigh it against a regular sac and see how it differs?

Oh, and does it look like it might have been a SBA planchet struck as Sac?

Um...Not sure what you are looking for here, lets see. After further evaluation...

1) It deffinantly is circulated, I received it in a Stamp Machine at the PO.

2) It looks like a Sac looks once it is worn down, however, usually in the eyes and around the edge there is some sort of gold color left behind, this one has none, but does have a somewhat reflective surface.

3) The date/Mint is 2002-D

4)I can not weigh it as I do not have a coin/postal scale

5) It is NOT the color of a SBA, nor is it the inner Copper color. I know it is made with a norml Sac Planchet. Just wondered if it missed a coating or sumpin.

Might be that famous Sac toning. They tone real fast and ugly. Or it could be an improperly mixed alloy.
