    Wow, tough one.
Obverse looks like a solid VF, reverse more like VG. I’ll go with F12, shot 15. Nice original example with a strong (over)date.

Nice hair and feather detail on the obverse (VF)... not much of a horn left on the reverse (VG)... I'll split the difference and go F12...

Since the date, the most important part of this coin, is sharp I'll say F12 even though the reverse is only VG.

Obverse is almost 20. Reverse is 10.
    F-15 is fair.

F12 with a long shot at F15 due to the strong obverse.

Interesting that I too grade each side. I think that no horn keeps it at VG. We'll see.

I find it amazing that each side differs so much from each other. Thankfully the side that matters ( the date) is so strong.

Us old timers would grade it at VG. There were no numbers used back then.

Perhaps a weakly struck reverse as opposed to wear. The rims look fairly well defined still.

I knew about where the coin should land because of the reverse, which is close to a G-6. I still thought the obverse would carry the coin to f-12.

Although you can't see the first numeral in the date on my G-6 avatar 18/7, it, too has a full date.

    Go figure, but no surprise.

Thats a very strong date if your coin is only graded G-6. Should be much higher, I would think. Whats the rest of it look like?

I don't know a thing about grading these, but my gut feeling was 20. Would have never guessed a 10!

I’m still wondering who laughed at my grade guess when it was correct… 🤔

I just acquired one myself that is graded VG8 by ANACS. Love the luster remaining for an 8. I admit that there are a lot of factors that determine a grade on a buffalo. Taking a holistic approach does help when grading these (luster, strike, marks, flatness, etc.) A timeless design and great coin!
