Probably a lost cause given the wear, but I'm curious if folks here can discern what mint mark is on this 1912 Liberty Nickel

"D" is my guess.
Nic-a-date will bring it out. You don't have much to lose.

Probably a D, but if you really want to be sure, you can put a very, very tiny drop of pure ferric chloride on it and it will show up. However, make sure you wipe off the rest, as it is corrosive.

Looks like a D to me.
i'll go with the flow and say it's a D. No matter how hard I squint at one that I find it always ends up being a D in the end. A drop of nic-a-date on a q-tip should bring it up and if an S it will have been worth the effort but if a D would make no difference at the grade it's in.

Got a bottle of Nic-A-Date and indeed it is a 'D'!
Dont think you needed nic-a-date on this one. Looks ruined now.
