(I have to comment here, do we all feel that collectors of coins about 1890 must have gotten horribly bored by the girl sitting on a box design. My God they seen that same design for nearly a half century. Ugh. Enough . ….I imagine they were Very Excited to hear Barber was coming forth with a New Exciting Design!!!!………………yeah…….right…..).
All Puerto Rican coins are relatively scarce. The 1895 peso (a one-year type) catalogs for $2,500 in MS60, though I paid $1,500 for this PCGS MS61. Being the largest denomination (dollar-sized), these are pretty popular.
