    Not an error. Dies chattered when coin was struck is all. Mechanical, machine or sometimes called shelf doubling.

    Machine doubling. It is a rather common occurrence.

    I would reference you to the Cherrypickers Guide to rare die varieties. They have a very nice section at the back of the book that shows how to differentiate between machine doubling and actual doubling.

    I’m thinking machine doubling? Everything seems to be doubled, but that double nose had me laughing!
