Quite possibly the worst Trueview ever

Bought this 8R last night… then looked at the Trueview. Way too bright!

They're all too bright and too yellow these days.

Nice coin.
Interesting concentric partial circles, first time I see these.

Interesting observation. Will have to consider the cause of that.

Boosibri, how did you request the alt image? I ask as I was disappointed with the last $2.50 image I received.

I suspect it's from the die transfer process from the hub. The images I've seen of the 19th century machines show that they were rotary. Some slippage/slop in the machinery could create small gaps like that.
I also see rotary lines on coins from polishing too, but this is not that.

That's a great looking coin, saw it on Instagram a few hours before it was to be offered for sale.
Despite having the highest high speed internet available around here, I still lag like crazy with that live sale.

Could these be the same type of lines on this 20 Pesos?
Recently I’ve had a pile of bad trueviews. Not great
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
So far... I'm sure that title will get passed on very shortly 😉

Indeed, from my last recent coins sent to be graded, from five coins, one came up with a bad TV and the other with a wrong type.
Wow, thats bad..
Looks like lathe cutting lines from the die transfer process. From when they make a real(coin) sized reduction of the artist or engraver's plaster mold.

Thanks, went and did a search for lathe cutting, indeed looks like that.
You are welcome. I'm glad that I gave you the right info.

Well for years and years, they were all red-shifted and cartoonish. So I'm not sure the "good ole days" were so good.

Still as good or better than what I usually get at home, and a whole lot less hassle.
