I know its not a big deal, but I haven't received one in change for many years (a 1941 in VG condition). Anyone else find anything in their change recently?

I've found them in the 50s over the past year or so - maybe one per quarter or so, but the biggie was in July 2001 - a 1925S RPM#1 in F12.

I was at the local sub shop yesterday and found an MS63 1960 cent, full red, in the penny jar! Not a wheat cent, but what surprised me was how high the grade was. Haven't seen anything like that in quite awhile.

A few months ago I received the ugliest cent in change. I thought it was a steel cent, I needed to use a magnet to verify it was.
  • I got a total of 9 out of 10 rolls that I picked up at the bank on Thursday. Last week, I got a 1984 ddo fs#1(cent mark)-039 in at least ms64 from my wifes change. I just realised that there is no cent mark on the keyboard!!
  • Getting ready to put my old house on the market and was pulling carpet up and found a 1915 wheat cent last weekend. image Maybe the SVDB is hiding somewhere in there lol

  • We are constantly finding old coins in our customers change..We own two retail stores and i would say we an average of 5 lincolns a week, just got a 47 Jefferson today, granted the silver coins are scarce, we get an average of 2-3 a week. Silver Washingtons, barbers etc....we get them all, even gota few Ike's last month along with a well worn 1918 S Buffalo and a 45 D Mercury inEF40,

Since we are a teenage themed store, the kids raid there parents change jars or drawers and make a bee line down to our store and spend the coinage just like regular money, heck we even get older two dollar bills every so often

The list goes on and on, we have a gallon jar we put everything in and every year or so we auction the whole thing off on ebay and of course, we put the rare coins in the jar when we auction them off (snort)

Last year we got a frantic call from a father, his kid confessed that he had stole the coins and gone out and spent them and the kid had stoped at a few stores and the dad was tracking each store down to reassemble the lost coins.

I kid you not, this is all true
