That's "just honest wear" to the point of being dishonest.

I think that I can see a very faint "O....N....E" or is that just pareidolia?

The rims look strange to me. Any chance it's a counterfeit?

Why would there be Wheat trial or pattern in 1955?

I was very interested in getting this but wasn't able to win it so I won't be able to tell you. Hopefully someone here won it!

What ever it is, both dies appear worn from a lot of prior striking.
So I think it is from grease-filled dies and not a trial strike or die adjustment strike.

Quite plausible and it was sold as such, but it is very interesting for the unusual look, hence the "Looks like" in the title.

Die adjustment strike imho, that was also circulated. Weird.

Well circulated and strong money for a worn grease filled die on a Lincoln Cent.

I was recently schooled there is no way of determining if a coin is a weak strike or a die-adjustment strike.
