At 1st glance it looks like just a rusty steel penny but there's a whole lot going on with this coin. Errors love some feedback please😊

It's clearly made of gold.
If it were a 1943 car I'd say put some rust inhibitor on it and a clear coat.
It's call patina.

OK. I'm sorry for my posts about the "gold Nickel". After this thread, I'm convinced the scale was off and the coin did not weigh 5.9 gms!
Make sure you wash your hands good after handling that coin.
At this point that "coin" deserves a dilute nitric acid bath.

No, they're apologizing for defending the OP in the gold thread. They're now on board with understanding she/he is just trolling the forum. That's my take anyway.
Asking about this corroded coin (an honest question from a beginner) might cause further doubts about things she posted (gold nickel) and her skills as a collector. One member here posted she was on the level - a budding collector. Although it is not a gold planchet, I believed her nickel might be something good because there was a gold streak INTO THE COIN that did not disolve in acid and her coin was overweight. Then after seeing the cent and her comments, I made a joke that her scale may be off for the benefits of the members who didn't like the nickel. I hope she sends the nickel to PCGS. I would not waste time on the cent.

@Manifest_Destiny, I think you may be right. After all the other shenanigans this weekend I had some preconceived notions and I may have misinterpreted @Married2Coins' post.
