Gold as a gift

Well, my business partner's birthday was today. We both grew up in Utah, so I picked a historical photo of Salt Lake City during the 1910s-20s and then added the appropriate gold coins - Denver mint (San Fran was probably more appropriate, but I did San Fran. Liberty gold for an earlier present a few years back). So I chose Denver and for the $2.50 I had to settle for philly, so that I could match the PCGS old Green holders.

For the pic, I downloaded it online, then proccessed it through a 2-tone monocromatic filter on my editing software to try and give a surreal and dreamy feel to it.

Anyway, it was a fun project and I thought I would share it for anyone interested in a similar set up for themselves or a gift.

    Wonderful gift! 👍
I’ve had a partner or two back in the day that I would have given a gift like that, if they would have just left civilly!😂

    Fantastic gift!

My birthday was Saturday... I wouldn't be upset if my gift is belated. :D

You're a very generous man and quite thoughtful to do something wonderful like that for someone you obviously appreciate very much. My own giving of that caliber has been limited to registered and efficient charities that serve the needy.

I would have loved to have seen his face when he opened that box. Very cool!

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

Lot of thought went into that gift and the selection of coins. I hope he appreciates that the most. That is an heirloom

Very nice gift. He must be a great partner. I've heard a business partnership can be like a marriage. Could be heaven or hell.

I did something similar for my greedy self LOL. All the gold and silver denominations dated 1900. Didn't have to worry about the holder since they were all going to be cracked out.

The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

We were high school buddies since 1984, and now business partners since 2000 - 24 years.

I won the lottery in life. Picked the right woman and the right business partner.

Is your business partner also your wife?

No, two separate people. I would be divorced if I worked with my wife. :)

Wouldn't it be easier just to fire her? :o;)
