Howdy and welcome. It appears to be a token and not a coin, but a clear shot of the other side would go a long way toward helping folks to help you.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
This is the back side of it
My guess is some sort of play money.
It looks like aluminum. The lettering seems to be a possible 'P' and an 'M'...'Play money'.
I think it's a clothing button, with the loop on back broken off
I'm seeing "50" on the reverse. Pareidolia?
Hm. Actually you might be right. Maybe not a button.
I'm thinking arcade token?

Yeah on the back side I see a 50 and some more stars
Some kind of token or play money. There are thousands of varieties.
I couldn't find it listed in "Play Money of American Children" by Richard F. Clothier

This^^ We've found a few of these in the past mixed in with junk foreign and token deals.
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
I looked at it with a magnifying glass it's a F and m at the bottom
bookmarked

On another coin forum, I've seen a very similar "10 in stars" design, with the same "F over M" on the reverse, which was classed as play money, so I'd assume the same here. This "10" coin is listed in Clothier as number F6.

Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
Well thank you everyone I appreciate you taking the time to help me out again much appreciated thank you
I was looking under "P" not "F" - so it is there on page 18. This one might be F8.
