    Very nice! I like it as a 64+ but I think it's in a 65 holder.

Clean and few dings for a big gold coin. Not the best strike but I’ll go 65.

    Thanks!

BTW... this is my very first attempt at imaging gold with my new set-up. I have color and exposure times set up more for darker copper pieces, raw... not through plastic. The break in luster in the upper right of the obverse and through the center of the reverse is some artifact. I'll have to play more!

I’m guessing that the luster is stronger in hand, and I’ll go along with the other 65 guesses. And it’s in an older holder.

Looks like rub to me on the torch, breast, and thigh, and some wingtips. Not really on the forward shoulders of the wings though..... so I dunno. Might just be the way I'm seeing the photo. I'm going to guess AU58.

The copper spots don't bug me. The one in the left obverse field does.

I wouldn't even care. Just a phenomenal coin slabbed or raw!! 👍

For some reason, I’m thinking 66

Exceptional pics, no doubt has great luster also. You'll have to experiment with lighting to pic up the luster better, no easy task for these.
    I'll say 64+. Thanks for posting! 😁

Lovely skin, I like as a common 65. Also like 1924s better than 1927s

I don’t seem to mind my 1927 too much.

Initial thought was 6 but then I saw the rev and dropped to 5. Really nice coin though.

Was concerned about the reverse also, but 65 is well deserved. I like the detail your pics show, well done!

Yeah, the seller pics weren't great but I saw a pretty clean leg and what looked like clean fields so I put in a bid and kept my fingers crossed. As @lermish said, it at least looked better than any 64 I'd seen. When I got it in-hand I was pleasantly surprised with the luster and the relatively few marks on the obverse. The reverse spots were noticeable and the hits in the sunrays, I think, are consistent for the grade. The seller gives a 30-day return but I dont think I'll be returning it. I'm not much more into it over spot and even if gold takes a tumble, I'll have some numismatic "value". And, I like the coin
