Anyone know the generation of this PCGS coin?
Missing so much information on the insert (including a barcode).
I can't find another like it.

This was in the early 2000's, not sure of the generation of holder, but for a short time the bar code was placed on the back of the label. I believe this holder came after the holder that had the series number and coin number on the label. I could be mistaken though as it could have been right before.

Generation 4.0A - Common.
Gen 4.0’s were produced Oct 1998 - Feb 2002. This holder features a new blue label replacing the old green label & a new rear hologram & silver logo. Barcode moved to rear label. This variety lacks the coin number system seen on 4.0B. It's not a generic 4.0 (as shown on the PCGS site) because it doesn't have the series and coin number information on the front.
In Conder101's book on slab generations, he discusses this exact slab type and states that they are a sub-variety of the very first blue holdered coins and that the first of these would have been produced for only about a month and he gives the date of November, 1998.
I know for a fact that the supposed date of November, 1998 would have to be incorrect for the very first blue inserts because I submitted a Columbian half dollar in September, 1998 to PCGS and received it in October, 1998 and it had a blue insert and it was the first blue insert holder any of us (dealer) had ever seen.

It's what Condor101 called Gen. 6 - there were several varieties - will try and post a few.

Still confused by this "generation".
This is from the PCGS Museum of Holders:
I've seen it with Jefferson 5c, Roosevelt 10c, WA 25c, Kennedy 50c and Ike $1. Did they all lack a series number?? They clearly don't fit in the exceptions posted above.

Early 2000, IMO. I have a boat ton of Lincolns from that ERA.

The PCGS page skips some of the minor variations.

I have been collecting this holder for years now and have 41 of them, A date set of Ike dollars, and some others. I have both of the 76 Ikes with T-1 and Type 1 as conder101 calls them 6.0, 6.1 (T-1), and 6.2 (Type-2).
Still looking for some MM coins from some of the Ike years.Bob
