To grade or not?

I own a 1984 police Dan Marino autographed rookie card. It’s in good condition except for a staple in to the left of the players head. Should I remove the staple or leave it in place? Would you have it graded? I’m not going to sell it anytime soon.

    I think the card would get a PSA 1 due to the staple holes, so it’s probably not worth it. You could get the card authenticated and get the auto authenticated or even graded. Auto grades aren’t critical for most collectors - an authentication of the auto is good enough for most.

    you'd need to remove the staple in order to have it encapsulated...I agree just have the signature confirmed as authentic and slabbed.
