First Red Seal $100

Happy New Years!I received this red seal $100 as a late birthday/Christmas gift. I am mainly into coins but im happy to have this piece. This is the first semi noteworthy note I’ve had. Figured I’d share.

    So much more eye appeal than today's $100s.

    @Steve_in_Tampa: beautiful example! Do you know if all $100 red seals are series 1966? I used to own a nice one of these….

    I believe they are.

    As I understand it, there was a statutory requirement that a certain amount of United States Notes be issued, and since they were no longer issuing the $2 sbd $5 USNs by then, they met the requirement with the $100 notes.
