I always wanted to hear a full version of him singing this song from Happy Gilmore. Cart Weathers had a good voice.

RIP. The Rocky movies are one of the reasons I fell in love with boxing, I've seen all of them a million times. Carl Weathers was a tremendous actor, Apollo Creed was my favorite Rocky rival and of course later on he teamed up with Rocky to help him overcome his brutal loss to Clubber Lang, love this scene where he lights a fire under Rocky's a..
Of course the Apollo Creed character was based on Muhammad Ali, Carl Weathers nailed it perfectly, the trash talk, he even boxed like Ali with the jab and the smooth footwork. The original Rocky movie was based on Chuck Wepner and his fight with Ali. The Rocky character was based on Chuck Wepner, he was a low level club type fighter, a nobody, and Ali gave him a title shot. Well, Wepner ended up going 15 rounds with Ali, Sylvester Stallone was at that fight and saw the heart Wepner showed against Ali and that's how it all started.

I think it was Carl weathers that replaced Bill Gillespie ( Carrol O'Connor ) as chief on In The Heat Of The Night
I could be wrong but wasn't he supposed to be part of Gronk's redemption field goal kick commercial during the SB? (for Fanduel?) I do know that Carl was just in a very recent commercial with Gronk advertising this next kick.
