Is this worth anything error penny

Stamped both ways one side back side is smooth was in a big coin collection all the outher coins it was with turned out to be all real and worth alot of money so I figure this might be worth something

    I saw a video once where someone took a roll of cents and stood them up in a hydraulic press and slowly increased the pressure. I imagine your coin could have been through something like that or similar.

    I am geting it looked at later tonite I dont see some one having a collection worth 25 thousand worth of coins and this one not being worth anything dont make sense

    It's not up to us to prove how it happened. It's up to you to prove how it happened during the minting process.

    But, here's one potential scenario...

    Two cents were stacked on a railroad rail, and when the train ran over them, the side of the cent resting on the rail got flattened smooth, while the other side got crushed against the other cent.

    How would it be "smooth and nothing in one side" if it went through a coin press?

    My family sold them at a auction I was just asking about the coin rudeness is a very poor way to teach or show some one what something is that they know nothing about thanks for the 2 cents I will make sure I discard the penny thanks.

    dont let these people get to you. if you ask a question for knowledge they ridicule you and always say your stuff isnt worth crap. ignore these people they are rude and bringdowns for the most part. there are good people here though you just have to figure out whos who. take care packers loved they beat chiefs go get em

    While what you say is generally true, except for the couple graphics, everyone on this thread, just politely said that it was damage.

    I don't agree with the above naysayers! I think its a real penny and you should have it graded to show everyone on here that it's real. If I was you, I would submit it to our host, rush/next day/overnight, yes its expensive but showing these people when it comes back that you got your money's worth is priceless. I think PCGS will return it a custom bag.

    Good luck and don't let the naysayers dissuade you. You go get it graded!

    i would say since e pluribus unum is stamped upside down under the lincoln memorial it is something rare and possibly valuable since its stamped jn two directions on one side. probably half orless even noticed
