Sea Salvaged Bronze Wilson So-Called Dollars Selling for Amazing Prices!

I was just checking the bay for So-Called Dollars and was surprised to see this selling for $1k. Looking into this more, I found two that did sell! A NGC one for $1000 and a raw one for $600!
Just a few years ago, I was able to pick these up for about $50!

At $50 they were overpriced. At $600 and $1000 ...
Same seller. There were a lot of these in PCGS details holders that did sell for around $50-$100 a few years ago. Hard to understand the high prices some are paying for several medals lately.

The seller seems to have found new price levels in the market. It would be interesting to find out where these are being collected at these levels.

For comparison, this example sold for $930 all in last week at Heritage (I originally sold it to the consignor).
I would just say a little skepticism comes in handy on eBay especially with Best Offer prices and particular repeating vendors.
From looking at the dealer's inventory (consignments4uny), they seem to be a specialist in Philippines coins.
They have this PCGS top pop 1/0 listed at $10k:
That MacArthur coin is really exceptional. The sea salvage bronzes are not.

How did they end up in the sea?
I believe they were dumped into Manila Bay in late 1941 or early 1942 in order to prevent the Japanese from getting them. Many coins were dumped into Manila Bay as well.
