Another one down. This was a consignment recently while Jose Iglesias is with El Paso in AAA. He's a notoriously tough signer and I've never seen a copy of this card signed before this one in the seven years I've been looking.

I'm pretty excited about this one in how I got it. I got in touch with the folks with Padres Authentics which work for the Padres themselves and asked if they ever had any cards to get signed. After some back and forth from the end of last season to this season was able to get this Jake Cronenworth from them signed recently and with the MLB authentication sticker on the back. That's a first for the collection!

Massive week for the quest.

Two cards within one week that I haven't seen since I started the chase in 2017.

The Aviles popped up on Ebay last week. I've seen virtually every other card of his signed but not the Rookie Cup.

And then the grail... Tsuyoshi Shinjo signed 2002 Topps Rookie Cup card. One of the most notoriously difficult signers and I was looking for him on one certain card. I honestly began to think I'd never see this one or be able to add it.

This one popped up a few days after the Aviles and, with some nervous moments as the auction was ending, I was able to add this bad boy to the collection. I'm over the moon on this acquisition.

I was able to pick this one up on Ebay this week. Originally I was just colleting the Rookie Cup catchers and then expanded it to all of them but when I get back to complete again on the catchers each year it always is a good day. Now the quest for the 2024 Yainer Diaz Rookie Cup auto begins.

It's his nickname "Money Mike". Got it a Braves FanFest and when I heard they would do inscriptions it had to be on there.

Nice. I wonder if I would have seen this, had I not stopped looking. Its also one of the better ones i wanted to find, mainly because foreign players tend to disappear back to their own homeland and disappear.

I've had several Ebay searches set for both Shinjo and Kaz Sasaki (who I was able to consign at the All Star game last year) since 2017 and had begiun to think I'd never see either. The foreign players are the first I try to go after in each new class.

Another amazing mail day! Back to complete on all the catchers through the current class. Down to 5 before factoring in the current batch and just need two more of those (Senga and Yoshida) of the cards that have been released to this point.

I second that motion on a 2011 Topps Jaime Garcia. However, I will give you first shot at one since you generously gave me your 2011 Topps series one Garcia that lacked the rookie cup that I needed.

I still haven't figured out why in the world Topps would put out a card of Jaime Garcia in series 1 and in series 2. That makes no sense. Anyway I'm just chiming in to say that two are needed! If I finsd one, I promise to let you know and to stay out of the bidding or buying it outright. Or I might buy and just give it to you. Either way, you get dibs first!

These all came in this week from recent signings. The base Trea Turner is one from that set that doesn't have the Cup while his Chrome base does.

Yeah I agree Dan. Funny story about this one. I've been after his base Topps without the Rookie Cup for a while. I was at a Braves game attending the on field batting practice when he was with the Nats and surprisingly he came over to sign. I had a choice of the Topps base or the Topps Chrome with the Cup on it and I decided to go with the Chrome. Been nagging at me ever since.

Got this from a recent private signing. Made sure to get the Beckett authentication sticker as his auto changes so much it's tough to get them slabbed.

Today's add from a recent private signing is an interesting one. One of two Rookie Cup Short Prints from 2012 (JP Arencibia is the other one) the base Topps card did not have a Rookie Cup on it (in fact it pictured Josh Reddick with the Red Sox) but the Short Print Topps issued has the Rookie Cup - same card number as the regular base. They also did this in 2010 but the 2010 short prints are almost impossible to find.
