Seated Half Dollar - die cracks for days…. 1840-O

Well, I finally have in hand one of my new favorite halves…. This super cool 1840-O is better in person than the pics and I just wanted to post about her and see if anyone else had the same die state to post as well!!!
And as usual, a post wouldn’t be a post without PICTURES!!!
…as you can see, there are “die shards” all over this coin…

There couldn't have been very many strikes after yours. Is this considered the terminal die state for this coin?
That is super cool.

Very cool!
Very cool!
A very late example of its die state and a nice example of its grade as well. Far fewer marks than would be expected on a coin with that level of wear.
Here is one, WB-10:

Very nice coin and great eye appeal
1840-O is one of my favorites! I recently completed the die marriage set for this date and mint, it was very challenging but a lot of fun. I would encourage anyone with interest in seated halves to pick a favorite or two and work on a die marriage set. You learn a ton from digging down deep on a single quest and get a much better feel about the rarity of the different die marriages and die states.

I did recently purchase a middle die state version of this WB-3 die marriage that doesn't exhibit the die crack next to the H in HALF but does have the other cracks, specifically the crack under the wing. I would be curious if anyone has an earlier die stage or a prime die state?
