    Yes that is a perfect example of machine or strike doubling, this is one of the common and worthless examples of poor quality control.

    There is a plethora of misinformation on you tube. Prepare yourself to be very disappointed if that is your source of numismatic knowledge. To have any value that even approaches what that video is hyping you would have to have the very finest coin, spoiler alert, you do not. Here is a screen shot of the PCGS coin facts page for a 1982 P small date coin, notice that the PCGS price guide for the finest examples ever graded (a total of 3 at PCGS) shows $4,350. Far below the hype of the you tube video; additionally PCGS only shows one coin ever auctioned which hammered for less then the price guide. Also notice just how fast the prices drop from the finest grade to even an MS67, huge drop, bet that you tube video doesn't tell you that. ;)

    The coin in the video is worth money solely due to the very high grade. In addition, that $10k+ result is from nearly 10 years ago; more recent prices realized for 67+ coins are less than $1000 (and even those prices are at least 5 years out of date). You would never find a high grade 1982 in change, the very few graded at the 67 level have all been carefully taken from original rolls or mint sets.

    I'd hold on to that 1982 small date.
    Reason why is many first time collectors and the collecting community are doing just that to complete, or upgrade the 1982
    set ,( I think it's up to nine different examples now. (?) )
    Save it until your good is better and your better is best.
    It's one of the toughest quests and their out there.
