AI Begins Designing US Coins- How Would You Feel?

If the entire process from the designing sketches to the finished coins were completely computerized, how would you feel? If AI produces coins based on collector trends, perhaps an Eagle on the reverse, a torch bearing Liberty on the obverse, flowing hair, stars and stripes, etc. etc., would you embrace this new age or stop collecting? It would be an Ultra Modern Era for coinage. Or would it not matter to you at all, a coin design doesn't matter how it was created or produced...Would coins be labeled "Human" or "High-Tech"? How close are we actually to this next step?

It would not have an impact on what I do in the business. As far as I liked a coin design not to worry.
Frankly I don’t think its a feasible concept politically at this time unless at sometime in the future humans lived in a city state controlled by AI. There was a video on u tube about that. Some vision a guy had of the future lol. Violators of city law were given a reprimand / warning for minor offenses or if more serious offenses hard labor or simply execution. Whatever it was decisive and swift. The city was on a consortium planet and subject to what they called Central Control (the human run military organization, called The Consortium which delegated city mgt to AI). The goal of the Consortium was exploration, conquest, and expansion among the sea of stars. With its large fleet of warships (and mostly AI crews) Competition was absorbed into the process or eliminated.
Who cares? What does it look like?

How could it be any worse than the PC clipart the mint is churring out now?

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I cannot imagine it would do worse than the current designers. I’d rather see an AI fever dream on my coins than the committee approved stencils we put up with right now.
I just want better.
Lots of people have an opinion, probably.

If the design and manufacturing is improved then of course we want.
Humans write the source code for an AI program.
If anyone can figure out what cougar's answer is.... he may have nailed it.....but we will probably never know.
I don't think @jmlanzaf's response was saying "who cares" about the thread subject overall, but he was merely sharing his opinion that he doesn't necessarily care how the design is created, only what the final result looks like.
I agree with that, I don't really care how we get to the destination but I would love to see the end result improve. Perhaps AI can actually render designs that look like they were created by an artist. Personally, I think the execution is even more important than the design. I got a couple of the 2023 Morgan and peace dollars and I think that the matte/sandblast finish makes them look cheap. Probably going to dump them, hopefully the proofs look more like the coins of old.

There was a thread here not long ago with AI designed coins. Some were a bit creepy.
I was tracking. I think lots of people probably have an opinion how the design is created.

I wanna see the designs first before passing judgment, jmo
I don’t care, I don’t collect modern coins.
AI designs will be terrible at first, then after a while they will be so good that we will get goosebumps, but the good feelings will pass when we realize that the AI designs lack the emotions that a true artist puts into their work.

I've lived long enough that my modern music became "oldies".

Me too, but it seems that music gets old before coins.
I agree with this.
the thing is and i would like to hear from a mint executive to chime in but if there is an error coin a ddo,ddr a doubled ear whatever would it then be called a computer error and deemed worthless or a ddo, or ddr, or whatever and called deemed valuable does anyone have a theory on this conundrum. thanks ahead of time for your answers
Might as well, right?
It's been about a hundred years since the mint has created a nice design, seems like they oughta give the new guy a shot at it 👍
Show me the designs that AI comes up with and then I'll tell you how I feel about it. I'm not very optimistic that AI can come up with better designs than a human with artistic abilities.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

And how do we tell the AI that we're displeased with a design?

It would still be a production error. A DDO or DDR is not a design failure.
And the Mint is not the arbiter of what collectors choose to collect. Their opinion is irrelevant.

Here are some actual coin designs by AI...
The problem isn't human ability, but rather the humans that make the up or down choices.
