Found this in a roll of wheat backs this morning along with a 1859 Indian Head that is pretty beat up.

Where you get the roll from
1858 flying eagle, nice find in a roll of wheat cents.
Wow. Think how long that flying eagle spent in the ground.
I bought the rolls off the internet. I'm not sure exactly,I believe this came from the ebay roll.
Nice, soak it in olive oil like they do for the crusted ancient coins - see what happens.

Supposedly helps but takes a long time - I never had the patience.

Just regular olive oil and just leave it in there?
That's about it: (Remember to use this method ONLY on cruddy coins that have no real value anymore)
" Put olive oil in a closed container, and then place your coins in the container. Change the oil once or twice a month. If you want to speed up the process, gently scrub the coin with a soft bristle toothbrush.
Wait at least a week before you use the toothbrush. Place it back in the olive oil if it is still dirty.

It won't hurt the coin but it won't do anything about the oxidation. Just helps loosen dirt.
