    Probably not much. Might see flows into Treasuries, though.

    For now gold in rubles will rise as it always does with uncertainty - smart Russians will sell the high. If the West succeeds in its new, internal effort to destabilize, gold will pull back in the aftermath as the question of Ukraine's future will become more clear.

    Well that was fast, gold didn't even have time to blink. I wonder what the next effort will be. If it eventually gets big enough, gold will react like we've never seen. Let's pray it doesn't get big enough.

    Putin will see the light and ask the Ukrainians for forgiveness. Oh, and gold ? It will stay below $2k
