I’m not much at teaching people and will fail miserably at answering your question. So let me just make a couple of observations . Someone else welcome to chime in ……

I’ve owned 6 or 7 Half Dome coins. Every single one was superb and the best I’ve personally seen in each coin from that particular issue. It should not be a surprise to you unless new to collecting that Half Dome sets are the #1 , #2 and occasionally #3 set in many set registries . I give a lot of credit to Laura Sperber of Legend Numismatics, who has about the best eyes in the business . She has built the #1 & # 2 sets for Simpson and Half Dome . Both Simpson and Half Dome have taken their place amongst the great collections to have ever been assembled .
