$200 worth of half dollar search.

Im a currency collector but occasionally I would ask the tellers if they have half dollars. Last Friday they had some and I brought $200 worth. These are my finds:

1967 - 40% silver.

NIFC's:

1990's - I separated these bc they look close to uncirculated but i think Ill be going to throwing it back into circulation unless someone see's something I don't see or why I should keep it.

1980's - Same as 1990's but I did find out that 1987 is also an NIFC. Keeping that.

Bicentennial coins (gold plated): throwing these back into circulation.

That would be a nice start to an album. Check the 71' s as it could be silver.

.1971 Silver Kennedy? I was under the impression that 1970 was the last year for the 40% silver halves

It is. The 40% silver stopped at 1970.

Half dollar rolls are what I used to search. Best find ever was a WLH 1943... Have not searched any in several years now. Cheers, RickO

@luckyrollers... I do not roll search at all now... Just really busy with other activities... I am a firearms instructor and also work at a modern indoor range. So classes, RSO duties etc. Cheers, RickO

@luckyrollers , used to search half dollar rolls way back when. Best find was at my local bank when I got 3 rolls and they all contained 40 and 90% silver. I was stoked!

I used to search for the silver halves in Vegas while playing the 50 cents slots, which btw where still paying in coins. Inserted a $100 bill & immediately cashed out. Played the clad halves but kept the silver ones.. That was a long time ago, but I amazed hundreds of $$$ in 40% and several handfuls of 90% over a 3 day visit....circa mid to late 90's.

Correction: That was in Atlantic City & not Vegas...Circa early to mid 90's.

Wow Atlantic City? Man if they still have that I would go there in a heart beat since I moved into NJ.

Yeah A.C. is still there, but none of the remaining Casino's will pay out in coins.

Kind of like the 1983 copper cent or the '65 silvers.

Type collector, mainly into Seated. Young Numismatist. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON
