I get where you are going and don't like that 10, but the scan is super low quality. To compare them properly requires them scanned on the same device, same settings. Hard to believe the image quality is so washed out and grainy in hand on the 10.

If we ignore the centering (which per spec is within PSA 10 guidelines, but in reality would not yield a 10 today), the only issue is the rough cut, but based on issue characteristics, that is not really a deduction. The psa 5 on the other hand has corner wear and seams like it has edgewear as well and probably something else we can't see from the low res pic.

Look at the centering on the oil drop on Gretzky’s uniform on both cards.

The drop was perfectly centered on the 1978-1980 uniforms.

Look from Gretzky’s knees to his jock on the 5.

You see a nice white line like we should see on a clear printed image.

Look at the other card.
Poor image quality cards have that white line turning yellow and red.

Nobody is saying you enhanced the photos. But those 2 scans were obviously not done on the same device in the same environment at the same settings.

Good point to ask when the PSA10 was graded. I am guessing pre-pandemic. Your images give me further reasons why I am getting my Gretzky Rookie graded with BGS with subgrades included.

In this scan of S/N 27606355, I think you can see the quality of the card.

The oil drip in the corner logo is always an aspect to watch for on this card. The difference on that point between the two different 10's is pretty dramatic.

Some other guy owns 5 of them 😎

Orr is the only skater to get above 20,21, and 22 ever.

these debates are always interesting and rather funny. the $1.2 Million to the guy buying the 10 is probaly less significant than the few thousand is to the guy buying the 5. same reason a bugutti is some ridiculous amount compared to a used pinto

Right; sorry, read your sentence to quickly. Either way, I'm a stickler for a centered oil drip in the logo down in the corner and know how tough they can be to find with perfect centering
