  • It's a tough decision but I haven't seen too many gold coins with patina on them. It's like it sat in someone's old leather pouch for a long time. I'm pretty fond of my mid-century dime too.

I originally bought this coin raw off Ebay and it graded 62 (tied for finest 73-P chop marked T-$) Then sold it to Tradedollarnut.

I've seen a few 1922-D Peace Dollars struck from somewhat polished dies, like that one (especially on the reverse).
    Is it graded "PL" ?
As Peace Dollars go, that is as close to PL as you will find.

This was originally in an NGC holder as MS-63 with no PL (or *) designation.

I submitted to PCGS asking for a PL designation to no avail, and they downgraded it to a MS-62

I might resubmit to NGC someday and ask for PL... who knows.

I am a small time collector of the very common Morgan dollar. However I enjoy them. This coin I had for a long time and it was in a PCGS “rattler” MS65. I finally decided to have it submitted for reconsideration. It came back MS67! I was blown away.

I believe that my all-time favorite TrueView is a toned Morgan that @Zoins owns.
