I just saw this. Thanks for linking it. Yes, a great story. Rice had a surly reputation with media but is known to be a good guy.

I like to give Jim Rice positive coverage on this forum, to balance out the negative. 😂 There were two other times I know of that Rice carried someone off the field, those two times involving players. The one that there is a picture of is Rice carrying Jerry Remy (RIP) off after Remy had a collision at home plate and hurt his knee. Remy said Rice just picked him up "like a little baby" and carried him off. Rice's strength was legendary. Lol.
