Need help with 1965 Uncirculated Mint Set

I have several 1966 and 1967 SMS with the blue disk. All I can find in the Red Book and online for 1965 is the SMS with a blue disk. I have this 1965 uncirculated mint set with the white disk that I can't find any info on. Is this a real release by the US Mint?

    Just a wild guess...

    In the past (still?) the mint made up unc sets for sale to visitors to the actual mints.

    I just can't find any mention of it. This was the era of no mint marks (minted in San Francisco with no "S") to discourage collecting and hoarding due to a coin shortage. I looked on ebay and found nothing.

    It could also have been privately produced.

    This is an anonymously created year set of business strike pieces. Not a mint issue but was designed to look similar to a SMS to make it more marketable by whomever created it.

    looks like post mint produced set!
    That was not a mint product !

    It is a privately packaged set. This was not uncommon during this period and later as well.

    Yep... Looks like a set from a mass vendor... i.e. such as ads in magazines or other commercial sources. Cheers, RickO

    In 1965, coin collectors were perceived as "the bad guys", for hoarding up all the coins. All made-for-collectors items like mint sets were suspended, because they didn't want to send mixed messages.

    Not exactly, there were Special Mint Sets available for purchase.
