The Michigan Panthers won the first USFL championship in 1983. They are one of the 8 USFL teams this go around. Pittsburgh and New Orleans also have teams.

I saw a partial list of ex NFL players in the league. I say partial because if the names mentioned were their headliners it’s not very impressive. I don’t know every player in the NFL but I barely recognized any. I might actually tune in for few minutes somewhere in the season but it really doesn’t interest me

I must say, pretty entertaining game. Interesting mix of college and pro styles. Decent quality of play. The coaches being mic’d up I could do without.

I watched a lot of the second half of the first game today. A little bit of the first half. It was...............ok
Yes, I agree, the first game was okay.
One of the problems is the teams have only been together for three weeks. It takes time for players in team sports, like football, to get together. The games were a bit like college ball with some pro aspects in the passing game.
This is not the NFL. Most players were guys who are past their prime or never made in the big league. Still it’s football for fans who are craving some games who don’t want to view reruns of past games on cable. Who knows? There might be another Kirt Warner among the group.

Watched a few minutes of a recent game. Need more TV's in the house with all the sports on of late. Back in 83 saw a USFL game on site in Arizona. Think it was the Wranglers vs. NJ Generals.

That's great that you saw an original game. I was a young kid during the times of the original league, and I honestly think that the excitement and hype around the original played a role in developing my passion for the NFL in a way.
No, its baseball season. Football is for winter.
