Who are some athletes from the past that we never hear about anymore, but you still remember them.

I remember Kerry Collins, he led the Penn State Nittany Lions to a share if the national championship in college in 1994, he had some success in the NFL, leading the Giants to a Super Bowl in 2000 but they lost to the Ravens.
Here's one, Otis Nixon, dude was pretty fast, stole 6 bases in one game.
Ken Riley. Statistically put up HOF numbers but not in.
Shaun Alexander of the Seattle Seahawks was one of the best running backs in the NFL in the early 2000s, then he just kind of disappeared.
I remember Kordell Stewart of tge Pittsburgh Steelers, he was once called the most dangerous player in football, his nickname was "Slash" because he could do it all, run, catch and pass.
Albert Belle, Cleveland Indians, he was one of the best sluggers of the 90s, don't hear much about him.
Shawn Kemp, Seattle Supersonics, he was a destroyer of worlds.

Steven Jackson was a running back for the Rams and the Falcons, he never really gets much credit, but he was a beast.

John Kruk, he had the mullet!
Dan Majerle, Phoenix Suns, that guy could shoot.
Another Suns player, little Kevin Johnson.
Darryl Dawkins, 76ers, he used to shatter the glass a lot when he dunked.
Raghib "Rocket" Ismail, they called him "Rocket" because he was so fast.
Michael Johnson, he was fast, he won multiple gold medals for the US at the Olympics. He had those gold shoes.
Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues, he was one of the smallest players in NBA history, one heck of a point guard.

Another forgotten athlete from the past is Aaron Rodgers, now, I'm talking about the clean shaven version that used to win playoff games and even a Super Bowl, completely different from the hairy, greasy, can't win a playoff game to save his life version. The man looks like he belongs in the movie Castaway, fighting with a volleyball named Wilson.
Kenny Lofton of the Cleveland Indians, he was a pretty darn good athlete.
Mr Maddux, one of my all time favorites. Lives a very private life post playing career. Makes public appearances once in a blue moon.

Alcohol and cocaine.
Edited to add: right behind him on the other team is Chris Mullin. Alcohol almost destroyed his career. He got sober, had a great career, and has helped many others.

I'm pretty sure he is the smallest player in NBA history.

Probably my 3 favorite Jayhawks of all time.
Danny Manning, Kirk Heinrich and Paul Pierce.
Probably enjoyed watching those 3 play more than anyone else, although there are many more.
Lyman Bostock. He left this world WAY too soon. Terrific player who was on a possible HOF trajectory.

Jerome Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles, another great athlete gone way too soon. He was a beast, played defensive tackle, an offensive lineman's worst nightmare.
I remember the hype over him crossing over to football. Unfortunately he didn't become the next Jerry Rice.
Ed Whitson - yankee years

I remembered his name and that's all. So, I looked it up......Very interesting character...... Very, very interesting.
For the tennis fans, I give you Marion Bartoli. She played with great energy and spunk! Always seemed to be the underdog. I loved watching her matches. She was constant movement and energy! I was so happy for her when she won Wimbledon.
