Ancients

I've only been collecting since mid-covid pandemic so apologies upfront if a really a lame question. In the short time I've been collecting I've seen the PCGS & NGC price guides updated on a number of US coins to the upside. Do the values for Ancients move much? One of my first coins was a Roman Empire coin but I bought it because I liked it and still have relatives in Rome. I wouldn't buy another and accurate values seem difficult to judge. There's enough of them out there on eBay or Great Collections for sale so I'm thinking while I like what I have it's not a great collectible.

Might be better to post over there at the Ancient coin forum. This is the US coin forum.
Depends l, my kids consider the 1980s to be the beginning of the ancient era

They are a great collectable, it just has to be what you like. Ancients have been collected for centuries, President John Quincy Adams collected ancient coins. The prices may be more stable, but that doesn't take anything away from them.
Why is an interesting item with a stable price not a good collectible?
Desire for financial gain just ruins collecting fun.

There is a learning curve for ancients but they can be a lot of fun. For that area I recommend the CoinTalk forum over this one, the ancients section there is very active.
