Blatz Beer CWT

I find that CWTs are tough to grade. I've seen many in TPGs that I thought were overgraded. Whaddya think?

That's a cool one. I used to buy Blatz for $3 a case (24 returnable bottles) while in college.

Here's one I was following earlier:
my Dad used to drink Blatz, he always had a case of long-necks in the house and he drank at least one every night with supper after work.
You forgot to mention, and when you opened one up for him, you would always take a swig before handling it to him.

While it's undrinkable today (unless they've totally revamped the recipe), if someone made Blatz with the 1863 recipe, I'd gladly try it.

Blatz has got to be one of the very worst beers that I ever drank.
Especially the flat tasting crap they served on tap! But apparently some people like it since it has been around since at least 1863. I will take a PBR any day over a Blatz!
That aside, that is a really cool token!
I had a girlfriend in college whose dad was a major distributor of Pabst, Blatz & Leinie. If he had been a Miller distributor I probably would have married the girl.
BTW, when we had a little (but not much) cash we bottom fed on Old Potosi (I later found out that they issued keg tokens back in the Pre-Pro days). When we had next to nada, there was always Fox Deluxe @ 3 cases for $5 including deposit.
Grading CWTs is more of a feel than a science.
All over the place.
Yours looks AU55 to me, which I think would be worth the price of slabbing.
(But not by much since PCGS now includes tokens in their special issues category, $$$)

My earliest beer buy, had to be 1970, was 'Duke'......Three quarts for a dollar. Yum......
We always called Old Potosi bottles Lava Lamp beer -- if you held an unopened bottle up to the light there would be some things constantly moving up and other things moving down. At one time before Prohibition the town of Potosi had 432 residents and The Old Potosi Brewing Co. employed 488 workers.
