Sorry bout that Gumby. This is one of my two top coolest coins. I couldn't make up my mind between this coin and my 1798 Draped Bust Dollar. I was going to post both here.
But I decided to post the 1798 on the post titled MY FIRST GIVEAWAY!!! posted by SummerDays3104.
This 1874 S is one of my coolest coins, because it is my only $20. gold. I love the look of this gold!

I am going to go darkside and token here. I am fortunate to own some great conder tokens, many different cool ones. One group I like are the End of Pain tokens. Here is one of mine.
I see the OP's companion thread has been moved to the "Coins Swapping, Tags, and Give Aways" forum where he challenged to post an additional "cool" coin from our collections and describe why it was "cool" to us. Here was my offered response:
To me, my coin is "cool" given its unique appearance and interesting history. As traced back through auction records it has been identified as once having been in the personal collection of its designer, John B. Longacre. As such it may well have been among the first 1850 Double Eagles struck, if not the first. Described in the various auctions as "Proof" or "Proof Like," Max Mehl's written description in a 1949 auction is informative:
"1850 The most beautiful specimen of this date $20.00 Gold Piece I have ever seen or that I can find a record of. This coin was purchased by Dr. Green as a proof ....
"The obverse is brilliant and equal to a brilliant proof...
"I classify it as a brilliant semi-proof, almost equal to a brilliant proof."
FWIW, and for comparison, here is the obverse of the only other known 1850 $20 Double Eagle that I am aware of for which a claim has been made to its having been a proof. At one point in time it was thought that both the above pictured and below pictured coins may have been struck at the same time, but Mint records located by numismatic researcher Roger Burdette lead to the conclusion that it was most likely a specimen contained in a special set for the "Committee on the Library" and was minted much later in the year. The "master coin" as it was then termed apparently ended up going abroad through the efforts of an Alexandre Vattemare where it remains to this day in a museum.
Manufactured by the Royal Hawaiian Mint (a private mint that was based in Hawaii) in 1991 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Princess Victoria Kaiulani being proclaimed as heir apparent to the throne of the Kingdom of Hawaii.
The obverse design is based on the portrait from the Reginald Huth pattern issue of the 1895 Princess Kaiulani 20 Dala. On the reverse is the Hawaiian word akahi, which is the number 1 in the Hawaiian language.
The gold cameo appearance misleads viewers that this is a proof coin, however records from the Royal Hawaiian Mint identifies this akahi crown as being struck in an uncirculated finish. With a miniscule mintage of 55 and being 1 ounce of .9999 gold, this is a highly desirable modern issue for the advance Hawaiian gold collector.
I wonder if PGCS would recognize this stamp as being from the sub-treasury as a way to denotate being a light coin (often destined to be re-melted and coined)

Not sure if it would be appropriate to post the NSFW pics on here so shall hold off on that.
Oh well!!!! Thought aout it and figured why not. This post needs to be marked NSFW and I have no clue as to how to do it (apologies in advance and request mods to help me out if found inappropriate).
