I don't know about you, but I haven't seen ANY benefit and or other relief, after the addition of the internet sales tax.
This money is just lining someone's pocket.......

I didn't see any benefit or relief from the taxes I was already paying, so I'm not sure why I would have expected anything different here.
If you thought the "fully original luster" rant was long you haven't seen anything. Don't get my started on living in NYS.
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

I figured they get the tax collecting part right.
The error was made in the State's favor, not the taxpayer. They are probably not as concerned about getting overpaid.
Sales tax, at least in NY, is based on location of delivery, not buyer's address. NY sellers were making delivery in CT for some NY customers who lived near CT in order to avoid sales tax until CT and NY cracked down on use tax and CT deliveries. NY has been known to go to malls in NJ looking for NY plates to send them a bill for estimated sales tax evaded. They are aggressive about tax scams around here.
Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

Nope. Bought a pair of $20 pants on Ebay and I was charged 8.75% sales tax in NY

I'm not sure what this means or proves. Do you live in NY? Pants are taxable in NY. Sales tax goes by the address of the buyer.

Clothes less than $100 aren't NYS taxed, only the local county tax. So here in Erie County the tax on the pants should only have been 4.75%.

Something working as it was supposed to. I'll alert the press.
The new standard of lowered expectations. 2021.
Same.
All I know since eBay went to collecting sales tax it has really hurt my sales in strong sales states like FL, NY, CA. A real bummer.
