Weird seemingly Non-copper 1943 Canada 1 Cent Penny

So I got this coin in a lot and it is really weird. I looks identical to a 1943 Canadian penny but is obviously not Copper. It looks like silver but slightly sticks to a high power magnet and weighs 3.32 grams insted of the normal 3.22 range. I don't think it is just a silver plated copy or it would not stick a magnet at all. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated.

Could be nickel plated
Which would make it slightly magnetic.
Guessing nickel-plated, too. A thin nickel plating will make a strong magnet stick to it weakly.
Judging from the hole drilled into it, I would suspect it was made for jewellery purposes.

Plated jewelry piece. No numismatic value or interest.
