I was curious if there is anywhere online where you can buy for face value (and free shipping) things like Susan B. Anthony dollars, Ike dollars, clad half dollars, two dollar bills etc - things that you could normally find at a bank and get for face value since that is all they are worth. I like getting these to spend at stores and stuff and seeing people’s reaction to the less commonly used money.
I don’t have a car and don’t want to spend money on bus/Uber getting to a bank, so I was curious if there was like an online thing where you can buy at face value those types of coins/currency and they mail it to you free of charge? Probably not, and this is probably stupid of me to even ask but just wanted to check.

Ya'll would be surprised how many ebayers are expecting deals like this from some of the offers I receive! I was offered $10 not to long ago for 4 Swiss Silver 5 Franc coins!
I buy circulated Ike's at my local coin shop. They aren't expensive and the guy is glad to get rid of them. $1.10/coin I think.
SBAs can still be easily acquired at my bank. Just ask for rolls of dollars and they will be in there.
Actually if you spend enough time on Ebay you might find unintended deals like this. Some years ago I got some rolls of Ikes at face or thereabouts.
Just did a quick eBay search and saw a few with free shipping starting at or under face value. They will probably go for more but figured I would watch them.

You are right - stupid question. Someone willing to sell coins at face value and pay for the shipping? Did you think about this while you were typing?
You can order quantities of coins from your bank. You will have no luck with Ike dollars but they can get you halves and small dollars to your heart's content.
Collector, occasional seller
Maybe locally such as craigs list or other online place, someone might have a quantity of stuff at face.
I hear on these forums all time about people dumping marginally collectable stuff into circulation.
You could also ask a local bank to let you know if a quantity of stuff comes in so you aren't traveling back and forth needlessly.

I would rather not bother them for a ride to the bank(s).
Too bad banks don't deliver. Just about everyone else does these days.
Your options are rather limited given your conditions and situations. No one will probably be willing to send you any at face value and pay for the postage also (unless you happen to be a youth collector, handicapped veteran, or special circumstances.)
Best options:
1. Closest bank (or Savings and Loans)
2. Pay a little extra than face value on ebay (with free shipping)
3. I used to attend some area coin auctions where they would frequently have some lots of SBA, kennedys, golden dollars, etc... that no one wanted to even place a bid. I would usually take them at face value, and some times below face value when quantities in the lot were not clearly defined. But of course that would require transportation to get to and from the auction (assuming you would attend in person).
Really, getting to the bank would be your best option. Perhaps call them in advance and see if they can have the quantity on hand that you would want. Good Luck...
I'm sure some of us could send you what you need, but you'd have to pay the postage. I'm not sure that anyone is going to pay postage to get rid of something they could just exchange at the bank. Given your circumstances, I should think it would be worth paying the postage to get it delivered so you don't have to run around.

I guess I will just ask next time I have to go to the bank. I very rarely need to go since so much can be done online.

I wouldn’t request enough to require that type of treatment. I would probably just get $20 worth with a variety of different dollar coins, half dollars and $2 bills.

Could be. Depends which store I go to. The banks would not be ones I belong to but perhaps they could exchange money?
If you’re talking small amounts, I’ve seen many banks willing to accommodate. I found it’s just a matter of asking nicely and if they aren’t super busy they will usually be helpful.
This question reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live bit about the Change Bank. Ten singles for a ten dollar bill - no problem. They lose a little on every transaction, but make it up on volume.
