I am curious about how golden dollars do— I have a complete Sac/Native set I think about taking from my capital plastics holders to a blank Dansco album

I revisit this album about every six months. Here is the latest progress! Each of these silver proofs were put in the year of issue.

Some of those coins presented here are beautiful! I must be the unlucky one around here. I've never had any coin in any metal tone while in a Dansco album. Of course, I lived in a very dry climate for all but 1 of my 72 years.

Same here although the climate here is not dry. I have a set of Modern Commemorative Dollars through present, the first dating back to 1983 which are still blast white. They have been in a Dansco album since minted. I'm not quite convinced that the toning is attributed to the album pages.

I am building a modern commemorative silver dollar set as well and a Dansco album- so far, no turning to speak of but I have not yet gotten to the .999 coins yet.

I think surface conditions also play a role. These two coins have been in the same Dansco for ~35 years. Both started essentially white. The ‘64 Kennedy is like the Franklin. A little haze, but essentially no toning.

Sorry-no pics, but I have several that turned out pretty nice, especially a couple of proofs.

Only my Kennedys did any kind of toning. Other sets such as Washingtons (state quarters and earlier) nor any of my Ikes got even a glimmer of toning. Only those few Kennedys...why? I have no idea. With the Kennedys it was only clads that did the toning. I also live in a dry climate so maybe that's the reason.
